School System Director: Andy Geeter
My name is Andy Geeter and I serve as School System Director for Odyssey School. My wife Karen & I have been married for 23 years and we have three great kids, Kevin, Eric, and Katie. My oldest son, Kevin, completed Odyssey in 2011 and is currently a student at East Coweta High School. Eric is currently in 8th grade and will complete Odyssey this school year. I was born in Atlanta and have lived around this area for all my life. After high school, I attended Oglethorpe University, where I played soccer and obtained a degree in secondary education with a concentration in Social Studies. I completed my M.A. in History at Georgia State University and have done some Ph.D course work in higher education at the University of Georgia. Prior to coming to Odyssey School, I served as the Director of Admission at LaGrange College, where I also team-taught a class in World War I History.
I coach two teams in the Coweta County Soccer Association and am currently the head soccer coach at Odyssey. I also work as an online instructor at Georgia Perimeter College, teaching US History. In my spare time, I am also an actor. For the past seventeen years, I have worked with the Creative Edge, an interactive comedy troupe that specializes in entertainment and teambuilding for corporations, schools and conferences.
School Director: Jennifer Ashton
My name is Jennifer Ashton and I am the School Director for Odyssey Charter School. My husband Brian and I have been married for 14 years and have three amazing children: Stephen, Rachel, and Jacqueline. I was born in Livingston, New Jersey, however I spent the majority of my life in South Florida between Fort Lauderdale and Orlando. As a family, we are very proud to call Sharpsburg our new home.
I have been involved with business and education for the past 18 years. During this time, I have worked with a variety of students ranging from pre-k all the way up through graduate level college students. I obtained my Bachelor’s in Business from the University of Central Florida in Orlando and my two Master’s degrees from the University of Phoenix in Plantation, Florida (in Organizational Management and Elementary Education). I am a big believer in life-long learning and ensuring students receive the necessary tools to be successful in their educational journey. Currently, I am pursuing my doctoral degree with Nova Southeastern University online. When I am finished I will have a concentration of Instructional Technology and Distance Education with a minor in Curriculum.
Outside of Odyssey I am also an online professor for Rasmussen College and Ashford University. I instruct courses in early childhood, business, and elementary education. Prior to coming to Odyssey, I was a university supervisor for Grand Canyon University, overseeing teacher candidates during their practicum experience throughout Georgia. In the past I have also been a classroom teacher in grades Kindergarten, first, and third. I am extremely excited to be part of the Odyssey family and look forward to promoting a meaningful learning environment and getting to know each of you.
