2024-2025 Lottery Procedures

This lottery is for available spaces for the 2024-2025 school year at Odyssey Charter School, located at 14 St. John Circle.

Returning students are guaranteed a place in the class for subsequent years as long as they adhere to the provisions of the Odyssey Charter School Family Handbook.

Prior to the lottery, a survey is sent to all current students regarding their intent to return to Odyssey for the 2024-2025 school year. Students who respond that they are not going to return will have their spots in next year’s class vacated and declared available for the lottery.

Students who apply for admission to Odyssey for the 2024-2025 school year by 4:00 pm on February 29, 2024, will have their names placed in consideration for the lottery. The lottery for the 2024-2025 school year will be held virtually on March 5, 2024.

Each year stands on its own, so names from the wait list for the 2023-2024 school year do not carry over unless a new application for admission is completed.

Siblings of children already attending Odyssey Charter School will have first priority for admission, along with the children of staff members.

Siblings of children already attending will not automatically be placed or put into the sibling lottery. It is the responsibility of the parent to fill out an application for admission by the above stated deadline, noting applicant’s sibling status. If there are too many siblings for available spots, a sibling lottery will take place first, followed by a wait list lottery for general applicants.

In the case of multiple children (i.e. twins, triplets, etc.) from the same household who will be entering the same grade, each sibling will receive a number. When the first of the siblings’ number is drawn, the other sibling(s) shall be assigned the next number(s) for admission. If one sibling is accepted and the other placed on a wait list, it will be up to the parents to decide which child has priority for admission and communicate that wish to the office.

All families will be notified via email regarding the outcome of the lottery. Interested families that did not watch the virtual lottery may begin calling the school on Thursday, March 7, 2024, to find out lottery results for their child.

Required enrollment documentation will be sent with the notification letter. All required documentation must be received by 4:00 pm on April 19, 2024 to complete the scholar(s) enrollment. If the required enrollment documentation is not received by 4:00 pm on April 19, 2024, the scholar(s) spot may be given to the next family on the wait list. There is movement off of the wait list as plans change. When an opening does occur, we will notify the first family on the wait list and proceed in order until the spot is filled
