What is APTT or Academic Parent Teacher Teams?
For grades K-5th – It’s like a parent teacher conference, but different. You’ll leave understanding exactly where your child is and should be on reading fluency. You’ll also get activities to practice at home.
When are the meetings?
We will have 3 meetings each year and each meeting is important to attend:
- 1st meeting is Tuesday, August 23, 2016 from 5:00 pm-6:15 pm
- 2nd meeting is Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from 5:00 pm-6:15 pm
- 3rd meeting is Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 5:00 pm-6:15 pm
What can I do with my child during the meetings?
We are having childcare for school age students and the meeting starts PROMPTLY at 5, so you’ll need to get here a little early to check the kids in to childcare and park.
What if I have more than 1 child at Odyssey?
You can invite any adult who works with your child to come to the other class – this means aunts, uncles and grandparents are welcome!
If you don’t have someone else to come, then you will have 15 minutes after the first meeting ends to stop in with the K-5th grade teachers of your other children and pick up their materials.
What if I can’t make it that night?
Please email your teacher or the Parent Involvement Coordinator (Jennifer Priser – firstname.lastname@example.org) to make arrangements for a “make-up” session as soon as possible. The goals we set are for 60 days, so it’s best to be as close to the meeting date as possible.
