Exceptional Education

The Exceptional Education program at Odyssey Charter School provides a continuum of services for students with identified Exceptional Education qualifications. It strives to work closely with students and families to meet individual needs by appropriately accommodating and/or modifying curriculum, instruction, and/or assessment.

A K-8 Exceptional Education Coordinator works with a team of Exceptional Education Teachers, Speech/Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and paraprofessionals at both the elementary and middle school levels to oversee the services provided to students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) so that students make progress towards their goals.

Students with identified disabilities are included in classes with their peers as much as it is appropriate, supported by Exceptional Education teachers and/or paraprofessionals working with classroom teachers.  Other models of special education services are also available to support the specific learning needs of students with IEPs.
