Our school has adopted two Soldiers from the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Unit 1/118th Field Artillery Regiment (FAR). They were deployed right after Christmas to go to Afghanistan and are not expected to return until October 2019.
Each grade had an assigned month to help the Soldier by creating care packages to send to them. So far, K/1 had January, 2/3 had February and 4/5 had March. For the month of April it is Middle School’s chance to help.
Our Soldiers are:
SPC Steadson Wallace, he is a mechanic in the Unit. He is originally from ST. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands, but has lived in Georgia since 1999. He has a 4 year son that he misses so much.
SSG Dylan C. Potter is a Communication Specialist in the Unit. He is originally from Virginia, but has lived in Georgia for several years. His wife just had a baby Girl at the beginning of December so he didn’t get to spend a whole lot of time with her before he was deployed.
Since April is the Month of the Military Child, a time to celebrate and honor the sacrifices and experiences of military children. We are asking for donations for our two Soldiers children.
SPC Wallace’s sons name is Devin, he is 4 years old. He enjoys dinosaurs, hot wheels, trains, books (dinosaurs and hot wheels) mainly. His current clothing sizes are 5/6T in shirts and 5T pants/shorts.
SSG Potter’s baby girls name is Raelynn, she is 4 months old. Babies need lots of things: diapers (Pampers Swaddlers size 2, 3, 4), Pampers baby wipes, sweet baby things, maybe some clothes in all sizes.
Then there are the wives, they deserve something too for taking care of these babies alone. Since I don’t really know what they like how about things like: Gift Cards (TJ Max, Starbucks, American Eagle, Target, Walmart, Kroger, Bath and Body Works). They could always use gift cards, they will most likely spend on their kids, but hopefully spend on themselves.
Please have any and all donations in by April 26th and thank you all for supporting our Soldiers by supporting their families.
