Sheila Laux is the Media Specialist here at Odyssey Charter School. Mrs. Laux graduated from Troy University in Troy, Alabama and obtained her Master’s degree at the University of West Georgia in Early Childhood Education. She retired after teaching 31 years in the Coweta County School System. She taught Kindergarten and 2nd grade. Mrs. Laux joined the Odyssey staff in January 2019. She is very excited to work in the library because she loved teaching Reading in the classroom. She feels it is rewarding to see students reading for fun or gaining information by reading since it is a lifelong skill. Mrs. Laux also works part time as an Activity Assitant four weekend days a month at an Assisted Living and Retirement Home in Fayetteville.
Mrs. Laux’s favorite letter of the alphabet is “T” for “Thinking of others”. She finds it fulfilling to think of other people and spread kindness. “T” also stands for “Thankful” and that is how she feels to be a part of the Odyssey family.
Mrs. Laux lives in Peachtree City with her husband Darrell. They have twin daughters, Caroline and Savannah, who attend the University of Georgia. Mrs. Laux loves scrapbooking. She loves to travel and hopes to travel more once the girls are done with college.
