Mrs. Dillia Smith is a native of Newnan, GA and is a retired educator who has spent her adult life teaching and educating students. Her professional teaching endeavors began over thirty years ago. Mrs. Smith attended the University of West Georgia and received a B.S. in Education, LaGrange College with a M.ED. in Early Childhood, and Cambridge College with an ED.S. in Leadership and Supervision.
In addition to being a classroom teacher, she has also spent many years working at GYSTC providing professional staff development and coaching for elementary teachers. Eight of those years were served as an Assistant Principal. She attributes her inspiration coming from her mother. Who is also an educator.
Dillia is married to Roy Smith and together they have two adult children and two grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking, shopping and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Smith now proudly serve as one of Vice Principals at Odyssey Charter School, where she hopes to continue to make a positive impact in students’ academic achievements and to motivate them to a lifelong love for learning.
