Boys Track Wins Conference Championship

Odyssey’s boys’ track team recently won their first PAC Conference Track Championship, finishing first in the meet held at Our Lady of Mercy. The boys’ team won both relay races (4 x 100 and 4 x 400 meters) and one individual contest, with Eric Geeter winning the 400 meters. However, the Tigers accumulated significant points in almost every other event at the meet which allowed them to beat their closest competitor by 43 points.

The girls’ track team finished the meet with a strong 3rd place finish, 10 points behind the 2nd place team, Our Lady of Victory.

Congratulations to Coach Nsa Austin and our track teams.

Touch-A-Truck at Ashley Park Mall

Odyssey Charter School PTO is organizing a Touch-A-Truck event to be held at Ashley Park Mall in Newnan on Saturday, June 15, from 10am-2pm, in the parking lot near Firehouse Subs. This is a chance for kids to get up close to (and touch!) all of their favorite vehicles like city and county police cars and fire trucks, construction trucks, tow trucks, street sweepers, a 70 ton crane truck from Georgia Rigging, vehicles from Atlanta Motor Speedway, Southern Scapes Landscaping, Joe Crain Oil, Peterbilt, plus vehicles and trucks from many other local businesses and organizations. There will also be an American Red Cross blood drive during the event. Donors will be entered into a drawing for a $100 Lizard Thicket Gift Card. Sign up to donate at www.redcrossblood.org using sponsor code: Truck.

County, city and military vehicles are free to touch, admission for all others is $3 per person, or $2 with a non-perishable food item for the Coweta Community Food Pantry. Children 2 and under are free. All proceeds will benefit the Odyssey School, a free public charter school for grades K-8 located in Newnan.

Odyssey PTO is seeking motorcycles, RVs/campers and other types of vehicles for this event. If you have a vehicle that you would like to bring to Touch A Truck, please contact Jennifer at 678-423-0178 or petrhino3@gmail.com.
