Field Trips

Odyssey is proud to offer off-campus field trips for students in all grades. Field trips provide our students with learning opportunities that they would never be able to get in a classroom. For example, learning about our government from a textbook is one thing— but touring the Georgia State Capital is an entirely different learning experience!

A limited amount of parents/chaperones are welcome to sign up to join us on our off-campus field trips and will be notified if there is room available and what the cost would be. All parents wishing to join us on our field trips are required to participate in Mandated Reported Training. Please contact the office for additional information.

Elementary School

Students in every K-5 classroom have the opportunity to go on several off-campus field trips every year. Teachers select destinations based on the material students are learning in class. For example, in 2nd grade, when they are learning about government, they might go on the Georgia State Capital field trip. Or when students reach 4th and 5th grade and are learning about the Civil War, they might go to the Atlanta History Center or Stone Mountain. The destinations are chosen specifically because they will enhance the material that students are learning in class and the subjects will literally come alive for the students, providing them with a learning experience that they will not soon forget. Of course, some of the destinations are really fun, like Uncle Bob’s Pumpkin Patch or the Rock Ranch, but there are still things to be learned about nature, farming, how our food gets from the farm to the grocery store, and more!

Below are just a few of the field trips that our K-5 students have had the opportunity to go on in the last few years.
