Eighth Grade Field Trip
The eighth grade classes will be taking a field trip to the CEC (Central Education Center) in Newnan, GA on Thursday, January 25, 2024. This field trip is expected to last from 8:35am – 1:30pm.
There was a blue permission form going home yesterday please be on the lookout.
This is for all 8th graders in Coweta County to visit the CEC to participate in the COWETA WORKS Discover Your World. Here they will have the opportunity to create awareness about career options, community workforce needs, and dual enrollment courses/programs. Career World will consist of four zones with representatives from various careers for the students to explore. The Four Zones are:
Zone 1: Public Saftey, Energy & Utilities
Zone 2: Media & Communications, Hospitality & Tourism
Zone 3: Healthcare and Wellness
Zone 4: Manufacturing, Construction, Agribusiness, Automotive & Aviation
They MUST wear their Odyssey Black Polo with khaki pants and CLOSED TOE SHOES. If your child is not in appropriate uniform or misses the bus to the field trip, they will not be allowed to go on the field trip.
LUNCH: After leaving the CEC, we will be going to Ashley Park to eat lunch. Students will need money to buy lunch, or if you prefer, they can bring a lunch from home. Student’s only options for buying lunch are: Firehouse Subs, Five Guys, or Tin Drum.
In order for your child to go on this field trip, please complete the back side of this form and return it to your child’s homeroom teacher no later than Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
